305. Then the priest extends his hands over the head of the penitent (or at least extends his right hand); care should be taken that this gesture is not confused with the laying on of hands during anointing.
He says:
God, the Father of mercies, through the death and resurrection of his Son has reconciled the world to himself and sent the Holy Spirit among us for the forgiveness of sins; through the ministry of the Church may God give you pardon and peace,
I ABSOLVE YOU FROM YOUR SINS IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER, AND OF THE SON, ‡ AND OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.
R. Amen.
He concludes by saying:
The Lord has freed you from sin. May he bring you safely to his kingdom in heaven. Glory to him for ever.

305. Entonces el sacerdote extiende sus manos sobre la cabeza del penitente (por lo menos su mano derecha). Conviene tener cuidado de que este ademán no se vaya a confundir con la imposición de manos de la unción. Y dice:
Dios, Padre misericordioso, que reconcilió el mundo consigo por la muerte y la resurrección de su Hijo, y envió al Espíritu Santo para el perdón de los pecados, te conceda, por el ministerio de la Iglesia, el perdón y la paz.
YO TE ABSUELVO DE TUS PECADOS EN EL NOMBRE DEL PADRE, Y DEL HIJO + Y DEL ESPÍRITU SANTO.
R. Amén.
El sacerdote concluye con estas palabras:
El Señor te ha librado del pecado. Que él te lleve sano y salvo hasta su reino celestial. A él la gloria por los siglos de los siglos.
