Who We Are

De Paul Evangelization Center is a ministry of the Congregation of the Mission (Vincentian Fathers and Brothers), an apostolic society of priests and brothers founded by St. Vincent de Paul in 1625 in Paris, France.

The Vincentian Mission

The Congregation of the Mission — known as the Vincentians or Lazarists — was founded to evangelize the rural poor and to form clergy. Today, Vincentians serve in over 90 countries, continuing St. Vincent’s vision through parishes, missions, seminaries, and evangelization centers.

De Paul Evangelization Center carries forward this mission in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, providing a place of formation, retreat, and spiritual renewal for the people of God.

Our Heritage

Gardens and landscaping at De Paul Evangelization Center

The De Paul Center campus sits on the historic grounds of the former Rancho San Antonio, a property with deep roots in the Catholic history of Southern California. The Vincentian Fathers have maintained a presence here for decades, stewarding the land as a center for prayer, evangelization, and community life.

Doheny Chapel

At the heart of the campus is Doheny Chapel, a beautiful sacred space that serves as the spiritual center of De Paul. Daily Mass is celebrated in the chapel every weekday at 8:00 AM, bringing together the Vincentian community and neighbors in shared worship.

What We Do

  • Ministry Formation Workshops — Training programs for lectors, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, sacristans, ushers, and other parish ministers. Available in English and Spanish.
